World Health Organizations are afraid that the caramel coloring in soft drinks can cause health issues and cancer. Soft drinks are being tested to see if they exceed 4- Mel that is being thought to cause cancer. They are also wanting to put warnings on food or any other drinks that may contain this amount or more. "The FDA has no reason to believe that the 4-Mel poses a health risk to consumers.." Companies are now working to make these soft drinks have less then 4- Mel to reduce the risk of health issues.
I believe that this article can relate to our school, because, many of the students consume these soft drinks that are being provided from the drink machines. If what is being said is true many students could be at risk to the health issue.
I feel this event could have been prevented by testing the ingredients that they put in items that people consume to help prevent health issues in the future. It affects me because I as many others consume soft drinks and our health can be affected by drinking these drinks that consume 4-Mel or more of it.
With every detail that the author is giving they give exclusive evidence to help support there claim. For example, when its being said that the FDA has no reason to believe that the soft drinks poses any health risk, they state "The government agency is testing a variety of food and beverages with the chemical and reviewing safety data to determine if any regulatory action needs to be taken, she said (Consumer Reports)." This evidence shows that the author feels as if there is not much to worry about when it comes to these conclusions if they don't have clear evidence.

Good blog post this was great. I like the way that you organized your opinion with the question below and answer. Your answer is good and I believe you answered correct. I also think that this is a concern here at our school because people do drink many of the soft drinks and this could be dangerous. I have two questions: What is the authors purpose? and to whom do you think we wrote it towards?.
